A Ten-Year Service Award with AIA

Looking back at this photo from the 2023 AIA Anniversary Awards, the ten-year commemorative certificate in my hands marks a meaningful chapter in my insurance career.

For me, it holds the experience I gained along the way and the trust my clients and friends placed in me. Reflecting on that journey reminds me to appreciate every opportunity to help someone think through their protection needs.

Ten Years of Challenges, Learning and Experience

From my first days in insurance to reaching the ten-year mark, there were rejections, moments of self-doubt, pressures and challenges.

I have guided clients through buying their first policy, helped families review their coverage, and assisted with hospital admissions, insurance claims and protection needs at different stages of life.

These experiences have taught me to give each client’s questions the attention they deserve. Some want to understand their existing policies. Others want to know how their family is protected, or need help working out what to check next.

I hope to put what I have learned to practical use: listening carefully, explaining things clearly, and checking any details that need confirmation before giving an answer.

Trust Is Built in Every Conversation

When clients open up about their own protection, their family’s needs and the worries on their minds, I see that trust as a responsibility to take seriously.

Everyone has different concerns, and that is where our conversation should begin.

If you already have insurance, you might start by asking: “What coverage do I currently have, and which parts do I still not understand?” If you are exploring insurance for the first time, you can share what worries you, what you hope to address and the budget you are comfortable with.

These are all useful starting points. I want you to understand the reasons behind a recommendation, feel comfortable asking more questions, and have time to consider your options before deciding what to do next.

A policy forms part of a person’s or family’s financial arrangements. In every conversation, I care about whether you leave with a clearer understanding.

This ten-year milestone also reflects the encouragement you have given me. Clients who stay in touch and friends who offer their support give me the motivation to keep doing my work well.

Trust takes time to build. I hope to carry that gratitude into my everyday work by listening closely, explaining carefully and continuing to learn.

Moving Forward, One Step at a Time

Ten years marked a milestone. Looking back on it, I hope to keep moving forward with the same care and commitment.

I want to continue using what I have learned to help individuals and families better understand their protection. When a question needs checking, I will take the time to confirm the details. When someone places their trust in me, I want to keep treating it with care.
